Trend Spotting at the Atlanta Gift Show: Mason Jar Mania

A Mason jar is a molded glass jar used in canning to preserve food.  The Mason jar was invented and patented in 1858 by Philadelphia tinsmith John Landis Mason(1832-1902).  While largely supplanted by other methods, such as the tin can and plastic containers, for commercial mass production, they are still commonly used in home canning.  As it turns out today these jars are also being used for everything from light fixtures to vases, invitations, drinking glasses, soap dispensers and snow globes.  Check out some of our favorite new uses for this old classic!

Fresh off the Atlanta Gift Show, we saw tons of wonderful trends and new products from some of our old favorites as well as from some up and coming artists! Overall we were very pleased with all of the stories we created, each a conglomerate of unique items sure to delight.  We had a great time in Atlanta and look forward to sharing some of our favorite trends from the show as well as some of our favorite local shops and events with you.  Check back over the coming weeks for updates!
