Thanksgiving Day (Jour de l’Action de grâce ) is a national holiday celebrated primarily in the United States and Canada as a day of giving thanks for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year.

This time of year it is always fun to decorate, decorate, decorate! We love the challenge of coming up with new ideas to keep the Thanksgiving celebration looking fresh and festive.  Our advice: don’t be afraid to mix in plenty of natural elements…go outside and see what you can re-purpose from your yard.  Rosemary from the garden and leftover Halloween pumpkins make charming place cards! Recently fallen leaves and garden gourds create a unique mantle presentation.  From plates to placecards, here are some of our favorite finds for this years feast!

Tinsel: a sparkling decorative material that mimics the effect of ice or icicles. tr.v. tin·seled or tin·selled, tin·sel·ing or tin·sel·ling

Sequin: a small shining disk or spangle used for ornamentation.

Tinsel and sequins are back! No longer the gaudy decorations of the past, today they are refined and elegant.  With the holidays fast approaching, these shiny glamorous accents are a must.  Wear them, decorate with them, and adore them!  Skeptical?  I will be the first to admit… I generally associate tinsel with fake trees or bad holiday décor and sequins with unfortunate prom dresses of the 1908’s…but times they are a changing.  Today there are so many great options from clothing to decor, all of which celebrate these shiny little numbers.  So, if you want to make them the guest of honor at your next celebration, check out some of our favorite shining stars below!
